High grade spalted beech

Raffir Wood is our quality brand of stabilized wood, and it is the core product of our company including products like spalted beech. We have more than 15 years of experience developing, producing and improving stabilized woods such as spalted beech. It is a continuous cycle, and every year we strive to make the spalted beech better, stronger and more beautiful.

It is made from beautifully figured natural wood that is filled to the core with a specially developed thermoset resin. The finished product maintains the unique grain patterns of the untreated wood while obtaining mechanical advantages from the homogeneous resin compound. Raffir Wood can be stabilized in various colors such as: black, brown, red, yellow, purple, lime, green, orange, natural and spalted beech.

Raffir stabilized wood has high durability and can obtain a high gloss finish after polishing. It absorbs very little water after the treatment, and will have very low swelling and shrinkage at different humidity. Therefore it will not warp and crack as easily as untreated wood. The material has a smooth surface without porosities and needs no other finishing than fine sanding and polishing.

It consists of natural beech wood that has aged for several years. When the aging environment is just right the process generates beautiful patterns throughout the wood. All of our wood is forested and aged in Denmark. After cutting and drying we select the best pieces stabilization. XC is the crosscut version. This grain direction has gorgeous map-like patterns. YC is cut along the grain which gives the strongest result.

The stabilized version has the unique grain structure of the untreated wood. Meanwhile, it obtains mechanical advantages from the strong resin compound. We stabilize it in ten colors: natural, yellow, orange, red, purple, lime, green, blue, brown and black. Raffir stabilized wood has high durability and obtains a high gloss finish after polishing. Our standard handle blocks are 120*40*25mm, while handle scales are 120*40*8mm. Custom dimensions are also available at sizes up to our finished raw blocks.
